Privacy Policy

Link in My Bio ("we", "us") is run by an independent developer. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use linkinmybio.xyz, the installable "Find Recipe" app, or the "Find Recipe" iPhone shortcut. The short version: there are no accounts, we don't sell your data, and we only keep what's needed to run the service.

What we process

TikTok links you look up

When you share or paste a TikTok link, it's sent to our server to find the recipe. Our server then reads public information about that video and creator from TikTok, link-in-bio pages and the creator's website, and may run a web search for the dish. These requests come from our server, not your device, and don't include anything about you.

Lookup results are cached on our server and our host's network for up to a few hours so repeat lookups are fast. The cache is keyed by the video, not by who asked, and isn't linked to you.

Technical data

Like any website, our host receives standard request data: your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We use IP addresses briefly, in memory, to limit how many lookups one visitor can make per minute and to block abuse. Our host may keep request logs for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.

Data stored on your device

• Supporter code: if you tip, a supporter code is saved in your browser's local storage so the app knows to skip the results page. It contains a reference to your Stripe payment and a signature, but no name, email or card details. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
• App files: the app saves its own files on your device so it opens quickly.

Tips and payments

Tips are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and email address to process the payment and send a receipt. We never see or store your card number. From Stripe we receive payment details such as the amount, date and your email address, and we use them only to confirm your tip, help restore a lost supporter code, handle refunds and keep records required by law.

Advertising and cookies

We show ads on the results page through Google AdSense. Supporters don't see ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before ads use cookies or personal data, and you can change your choice at any time.

We don't use our own analytics or tracking cookies.

Who we share data with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. Data is handled by these service providers only to run the service:

• Vercel: hosts the website and server (privacy policy).
• Stripe: processes tips (privacy policy).
• Google: serves ads (privacy policy).

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Children

Link in My Bio isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can use the app without tipping and without giving us any personal information. You can clear stored data at any time through your browser settings. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, such as tip records. Email us and we'll help.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
